Nextlink Launches Gigabit Ethernet; Enhances Access Solutions Product Line

Solution Meets Increasing Bandwidth Demand, Addresses Disaster Recovery Needs and Enables Organizations to Expand Their Network Reach

HERNDON, VA - May 29, 2008- Nextlink Wireless, Inc., a leading provider of broadband wireless alternative access services, has added Gigabit Ethernet (Gig-E) to its access solutions product portfolio. Nextlink's addition of Gig-E addresses the increasing bandwidth demands of communication carriers and larger enterprises in fiber-deprived areas. The Nextlink Gig-E product can also be utilized to support network diversity requirements.

Utilizing a Gig-E network interface, the new offering supports access speeds up to 800 Mbps. Enterprise customers and communications carriers are now able to integrate Gig-E access into their networks and seamlessly scale up to 800 Mbps as their bandwidth needs grow. Gig-E joins Nextlink's robust product line of access solutions which include 10 Mbps, 30 Mbps and 100 Mbps Ethernet, DS-3 (45 Mbps) and OC-3 (155 Mbps) services.

"The availability of the new Gig-E product line demonstrates Nextlink's commitment to use its spectrum and technology to meet the growing bandwidth needs in the U.S.," said Tim Dunne, vice president - business operations of Nextlink. "As organizations see new demand to provide high-capacity, next-generation services that are more cost effective over their networks, Nextlink is positioned to help them meet those needs."

Nextlink successfully launched its first 800 Mbps Ethernet link in the Las Vegas market last month. The new Gig-E product will be available in 75 of the top 100 markets in the US, including: Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Boston, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Denver, Las Vegas, Detroit, San Diego, Kansas City, and Philadelphia.
